Kylar Broadus is one of the giants of our community. He has helped promote understanding and diversity for many years, and I believe he will help move the transgender community forward…for years to come.

As one of the most experienced and respected litigators, thinkers, and strategists in the LGBT movement, Kylar is a true powerhouse. Throughout his career, Kylar has continually developed cutting edge strategies to protect transgender people, worked to raise the visibility and leadership of transgender people of color, and demonstrated unfailing collegiality and collaboration. He is a great leader.

We could not be more proud of The Task Force for recognizing the amazing talents and intellectual heft of Kylar Broadus. He will administer an aggressive and substantive platform for transgender equality.

I met Kylar many years ago at a community meeting and saw his passion and drive for the transgender community. I appreciate legal minds such as that of Kylar, who uses the law to educate and enlighten the world about the transgender journey.

Dr. Broadus gave a fantastic overview of the broad umbrella that defines the transgender community to my human sexuality class. He helped us to recognize the complex array of political and advocacy issues faced by the community. My students commented that they really enjoyed his humor and candid way of sharing his story. For most students, he is the first transgender person they have ever known. I’m grateful for his tireless advocacy and willingness to educate people from all walks of life.
